KARACHI: Contracts worth Rs200 million were signed at a three-day 14th International Safe Secure Pakistan Exhibition that concluded at Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad, on Friday.
Exhibitors from more than 28 countries including, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, France, Finland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Slovenia, Sweden, Spain, Taiwan, UAE, China, UK, USA, Germany, Norway, Korea, Japan, Canada, Czech Republic, Turkey, Italy, Denmark, Iran and Pakistan have displayed their brands at Safe Secure International exhibition.
During the three days of the exhibition, business professionals, representatives from corporate sector, foreign diplomats, foreign defense attaches and delegates, government officials and officers from various military, air force and other defense and related organisations of the defense industry visited the exhibition and showed keen interest in displayed products.
The positive presence of foreign exhibitors at exhibition was viewed as a success for Pakistan in presenting itself as a potential market for this sector.
They expressed their satisfaction over the positive response.
“We see lots of potential in local market for the equipment our company is offering,” a foreign exhibitor remarked. “We offer a complete family of security products. Our product will be an essential item in the future scenario of security awareness in the country. Pakistan, now in its current security situation, seems to be a big market for us, with upcoming one road one belt feature of CEPEC,” he added.
Local exhibitors are also glad over the response they are receiving from the three-day event.
“We had visited the exhibition last year and that was when we decided to participate.
This is our first time at the Safe Secure Pakistan, we are receiving a good response. Pakistan’s local market for safety and security products is now expanding,” a local exhibitor said.
“The higher number of corporate visitors is a good sign. We prefer corporate customers,” he added.
Federal Minister of State, Frontier Region, Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch formally inaugurated the exhibition. Alongside the exhibition, an international Safe Secure Conference was held at the Pak-China Friendship centre, on the theme of ‘Importance of Integrated Safety and Security in Today’s Environment’.
The 8th edition of the conference featured an exclusive session on ‘Developing Resilient Infrastructure in Secure Environment’ along with future of fire safety, building codes and standards for safer cities and industrialisation.
Officials of organising Pegasus Consultancy said 15th edition of Safe Secure Pakistan 2019 would be held again in Islamabad next year.
