The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) was asked on Wednesday to ban the broadcast of ‘anti-judiciary’ speeches by the Sharif family outside the accountability court in Islamabad.
Judicial Activism Panel head Advocate Izhar Siddiq sent the notice to PEMRA to immediately put a stop to such anti-judiciary marks, a private TV channel reported. The notice reads that Nawaz, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Capt (r) Safdar step outside the court and pass remarks and comments against the courts. The notice added that Nawaz and his family use this trick to pressurise the judges and make the trial ‘controversial’.
