RAWALPINDI: Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Monday that there is no danger to democracy as long as it benefits the country.
Maj Gen Asif said that Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has always been a believer in democracy and that he holds the constitution and law in the highest regard, Express News reported.
The military spokesperson also assured that the armed forces, if needed, will serve within the constitutional limits during the general elections later this year.
DG ISPR also briefed about Gen Bajwa’s visit to Line of Control (LOC) and Working Boundary in Khuiratta and Ratta Arayan sectors, where Gen Bajwa was briefed about Indian violations, civilian casualties and injuries due to aggression from across the border.
